Two workers at a trading card shop in Osaka got tied to chairs and robbed in the middle of the night.
Over 100 Cards Got Stolen
At round 3:30 in the morning, two employees of a trading card shop finished their livestream, which took place in the shop's office. Immediately after the livestream ended, two masked thieves broke into the store and threatened the two employees with bladed instruments.
According to Sora News 24, the masked robbers had no idea which of the cards were expensive, so they had to ask the two workers. Thanks to the question, the workers could hear a heavy Kansai accent.
The two hostages described them as "wearing black clothes, sunglasses and masks".
For the thieves, it was quite a successful robbery. Not only did they stole 100 cards worth of $68,000, they also stole the two men’s smartphones and around 250,000 yen ($1750) in cash. Neither the thieves nor the stolen items have been found, and are still at large (as of September 13)
It seems that Pokémon cards are attracting more and more criminals. Not long ago, a Pokémon trading card game, was used to cover up a drug operation.
