The new Jump'n Run hit will get a free update before the end of the year.
The first Astro game, Astro's Playroom, was basically a tutorial that came pre-installed on every PS5 and acted as a tech demo for the controller. It was so popular that Sony asked the developers, Team Asobi, to make a full game.
Astro Bot released this September, and was very well-received (94 on Metacritic). Now, Team Asobi have announced that fans can expect free DLC later this year.
Speedruns & VIP Bots
In an interview with Quest Daily, Team Asobi's Studio Director Nicolas Doucet shared some insights into the future of Astro Bot following the game's successful release.
The free update will bring back speedrun levels, which are smaller, more focused levels designed for replaying and perfecting.
Along with that update, we'll also be getting some new VIP Bots inspired by characters from other games, like Kratos from God of War and Snake from Metal Gear Solid.
Nicolas Doucet described this as a free update rather than a DLC, so we shouldn't expect a content bomb. But this no doubt comes as great news.
Have you had a chance to try Astro Bot? Do you think they can hold their own against Mario?
