After a long time, Call of Duty has once again managed to impress. At least that's what the numbers say, and as we all know, the numbers never lie.
Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, has reason to celebrate as Call of Duty Black Ops 6 had the biggest launch in Call of Duty history and really pushed Game Pass.
The big comeback?
Activision is popping the cork as Call of Duty Black Ops 6 became the #1 game in the franchise in only its first weekend of release.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella also stated in a recent quarterly earnings call that the release was a massive success in terms of numbers. Even though the first season of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has not even started yet.
Last week’s launch of Black Ops 6 was the biggest Call of Duty release ever, setting a record for day one players, as well as Game Pass subscriber adds on launch day. And unit sales on PlayStation and Steam were also up over 60% year-over-year. This speaks to our strategy of meeting gamers where they are by enabling them to play more games across the screens they spend their time on.
As a result, this fiscal quarter was also a huge success for Game Pass.
We set new records for monthly active users in the quarter, as more players than ever play our games across devices and on the Xbox platform. Game Pass also set a new Q1 record for total revenue and average revenue per subscriber.
Looks like the Activision/Blizzard purchase is paying off for Microsoft.
