Honkai: Star Rail really does not miss with these recently announced characters.
Just earlier today, the developers at HoYoverse have shared a new upcoming character with us via their official Honkai: Star Rail social media accounts. And, catching absolutely everyone by surprise, it is THE Herta!
The Herta just got announced
Funnily enough, this odd name was apparently chosen by The Herta herself. On the post shared on Twitter/X, there is a small paragraph, presumably quoting Herta.
"The writers from the Intelligentsia Guild wanted to give me an extra title. Something like "Herta Prime" to separate me from my puppets," it states. "So, I gave them a suggestion – if they dared to write that, then I would call myself THE Herta."
And it seems like that is exactly what happened. A fun tidbit about the origin of the "the" in front of her name.

Are the puppets not "me" as well? So, I gave them a suggestion - if they dared... pic.twitter.com/SP6Rc99jyE

Now, enough about her name and more about her design and character info!
The Herta will still be an Ice Erudition unit, though this time she will be featured as an exclusive event 5-star, similar to the situation with Dan Heng and Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae.
In her new design, she sports a witch-esque outfit, with the pointed hat and everything. A common theme on her clothes seem to be hands, as they are visible on her hat, her dress, and even the soles of her shoes. An intriguing detail!
She also carries a giant key, reminiscent of the keyblades from the Kingdom Hearts games... Perhaps this will be her weapon of choice in combat?
If Honkai: Star Rail follows its character release patterns, then The Herta will have her first banner launched in version 2.8, directly after Fugue, who was the most recently announced 5-star unit.
Will you be pulling for The Herta? Feel free to share your thoughts and pull-plans in the comments!
