League of Legends fans, the 2024 World Championship has crowned its champion. In a thrilling grand final at the O2 Arena in London, T1 emerged victorious over Bilibili Gaming in a nail-biting 3-2 series, adding yet another World Championship title to their legacy.
T1 Clinches Fifth World Championship in London
T1’s win at Worlds 2024 was nothing short of historic. This victory marks their fifth World Championship title and further cements star player Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok as the greatest to ever play League of Legends. Faker’s unmatched skill and T1’s strategic brilliance have secured them a place at the top of LoL history.
The grand final was an intense back-and-forth. Bilibili Gaming took the first map, giving them an early lead, but T1 swiftly answered by taking game two. Bilibili then clinched game three, putting themselves just one win away from their first-ever World Championship.
However, T1 was determined to stay in the fight, taking game four after a dramatic comeback to force a final showdown in game five, which they would go on to win.
T1’s victory at Worlds 2024 comes with a reward of $445,000 and the prestigious title of World Champions. Bilibili Gaming will take home $356,000 for their impressive second-place finish.
