League of Legends fans, it’s almost time! The 2024 World Championship Final is just around the corner, and Riot Games dropped some exciting news at a press conference right before the big game – and we were there to soak it all up.

Not only did they reveal huge updates on what’s coming to LoL Esports, but they also officially announced where Worlds will be held in 2025. Here’s a full rundown of what’s coming.

Worlds 2025 is Coming to Chengdu

To kick things off, Riot Games confirmed that Chengdu, China, will host the 2025 League of Legends World Championship Final!

The city was a fantastic host for MSI 2024, so it’s no surprise Riot wants to return for another massive event. Chengdu’s passionate fans and electric atmosphere impressed everyone, and it’s set to be even bigger next year as the top teams in the world gather for a spectacular showdown.

MSI 2025 Heads to Canada

In another thrilling announcement, Riot is bringing the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) back to Canada in June 2025. Canadian fans have been waiting for years to see an international LoL event return to their home turf, and now the time has come.

This MSI will showcase 10 top teams from five major regions as they fight to prove their strength ahead of Worlds. It’s a big win for Canada’s esports community and a great chance for fans to watch world-class LoL action live.

Introducing New Regional Leagues: LTA and LCP

Riot also announced big changes coming to regional leagues in 2025. Two new leagues are on the horizon: the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) and the League of Legends Championship of the Americas (LTA).

These leagues aim to bring even more excitement to fans by promoting intense inter-regional rivalries and giving up-and-coming talent a bigger stage. These updates are hopefully a big step toward making LoL esports more competitive and sustainable – with plenty of unforgettable matchups ahead.
