Blindfire, a game by developer Double Eleven, has been turning heads ever since its announcement. A shooter with such a unique twist is certainly not something you see every day! And now it's available on PlayStation 5 too, albeit only as Early Access.

What is Blindfire?

Blindfire is a multiplayer first-person shooter with the special trait that the maps are almost completely shrouded in darkness.

Shooting your weapons will expose your position to everyone in range, so any action must be taken with extreme caution. The game provides an echo-location mechanic and a high sound quality to ensure that players can have a fair and enjoyable combat experience.

In matches of up to 8 players, you can decide whether to act as a lone wolf or team up with someone. There are various different game modes and maps to play, but the goal is always the same: be the last one standing when the lights turn on.

If you die, you are not just forced to watch the other players enjoy the game without you, while you are powerless as a result of the game. Instead, you gain access to night vision cameras that are spread around the maps.

You are able to see everything much more clearly and even lay traps for those that are still living, influencing the outcome of the match freely while giving everyone else a good challenge to overcome.

Where can you get Blindfire?

Blindfire is currently available for Early Access on Steam, Epic Games Store and PlayStation Store — the latter of which just got launched today! — priced at $8.99 USD.

The game is not finished and polished by all means, but it is definitely already tons of fun. But always remember: things are bound to change until its full release!
